It’s hard to even breathe
Heechul pushed Siwon against a wall as soon as they were alone. “Does he know?”
“Does who know what, hyung?” Siwon sighed softly.
“Did you tell Hankyung?” Heechul said, waving his hands around furiously, “that you were mine first, that he’s stealing?”
“I’m not yours, Rella,” Siwon said calmly, “That night was a mistake, and…”
“Ya!” Heechul exclaimed, “When do I ever make mistakes?”
Siwon was silent.
After a moment, Heechul spoke again. “Do you love him?”
“I need to talk to you, Junsu.”
Yoochun cornered Junsu in their bedroom after dinner. There was something urgent he needed to talk to other about.
“What’s up?” Junsu responded as he slipped into his pajamas.
Yoochun’s hand clentched and unclentched around the letter he’d received a few days ago. It was wrinkled, and had clearly been read many times. “You should have told me your feelings, Su.”
Junsu looked up at Yoochun, completely confused. “My feelings?”
Yoochun held up the letter he’d received. “Hyukjae sent this to me. He said… you’d written it but you were too afraid.”
“I have to admit…” he continued in a soft voice, “I’ve had feelings for you for a long time too, but… I never thought you’d reciprocate them.”
If anything, Junsu looked more confused. “Yoochun, I don’t-”
“It’s okay, Su. I know everything. …If I’d known sooner, I wouldn’t have…”
“Whatever Hyukjae sent you didn’t come from me.” Junsu was furious. He was expecting his friend to come up with some sort of revenge, but this hit way too close to home. It would be a lie to say that Junsu didn’t have feelings for Yoochun, but no one was supposed to know about it. How had Hyukjae even known? Or was this just a coincidence?
Junsu had never done anything about his feelings towards Yoochun because he knew his friend, and he knew what his friend would want. Yoochun would want a serious commitment, and Junsu wasn’t ready for that. He wasn’t ready to give up his carefree lifestyle for anyone.
“I recognize your handwriting, Su…” Yoochun shook his head. He didn’t realize that Junsu would be so completely in denial.
“It doesn’t matter, Yoochun,” Junsu finally replied, “You know I don’t do the serious relationship thing anyway, and I know that’s what you’d want. It’s not for me. I’d suffocate.”
“You’ll never know until you try.” Yoochun stepped towards Junsu, who quickly backed away, stopping when his back hit a wall.
“…and you’re dating Ryeowook…”
Yoochun stepped forward again.
“I really wish better for you. …and for me too. Ryeowook is… wonderful. But I don’t see forever when I look at him… not the way I can see it with you.”
“Forever is a long time,” Junsu replied quickly.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner,” Yoochun murmured, cupping Junsu’s cheek, “Why didn’t you give me the letter yourself?”
Whatever Hyukjae had written in that letter had obviously done a good job. Yoochun looked about head over heels in love with Junsu. Oh, Hyukjae was so. Dead.
Junsu’s tongue darted out, wetting his plump lips, as he quickly plotted his revenge.
The tongue was too much for Yoochun to resist, and he leaned in. At first their kiss was just a gentle, hesitant brush of lips, and Junsu froze, unable to move as something like the feeling of electricity ran through his body.
“Mm…” When Yoochun didn’t feel Junsu pull away, he kissed him again, this time with more confidence. He ran his tongue along Junsu’s lips, following the trail that the other’s tongue had taken moments ago, and when Junsu’s lips parted, he slipped his tongue inside. Junsu’s mouth was like honey on his tongue, and Yoochun moaned, trying to pull the other closer, wanting more. If Yoochun felt good when he kissed Ryeowook, he felt absolutely beyond good kissing Junsu, and if he’d been able to think at that moment, he would have realized that after this, he was never going to be able to settle for anything less.
Before they knew it, the two were kissing each other furiously, bodies pressed against one another, and this continued on until the two had to stop to catch their breathe.
“If that’s…” Yoochun panted, “if that’s what kissing you feels like all the time… I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to stop.”
Junsu nodded, completely dazed. He’d imagined kissing Yoochun, and much more to be honest, but that was just… beyond anything in his wildest dreams.
All thoughts of anger towards Hyukjae had vanished for the time being. And the nagging thoughts that were telling Junsu not to get attached, not to get involved, that Yoochun was too much, would want too much were gone as well. All Junsu could think about was getting more of Yoochun against him, around him, inside of him.
But Yoochun had backed away, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “I’m sorry, even that, I shouldn’t have…” Junsu blinked at him, still slightly stunned from the passion of their kiss. “Junsu-yah, I have to talk to Ryeowook, before…”
Junsu nodded. Yoochun needed to talk to Ryeowook, and Junsu needed to decide if he wanted to do this.
Yoochun felt incredibly guilty afterwards, and he quickly called up Ryeowook and agreed to meet him somewhere. He had to tell Ryeowook what had happened. The guilt was too much. After all of the things he’d said to the younger man, he couldn’t believe that he was going to have to take it all back.
But he knew that he had to follow his heart, wherever it decided to lead him. He could only hope that Ryeowook would forgive him.
Eeteuk hurriedly walked to the dance studio after receiving a distressed call from Donghae.
”Eunhyuk and Shindong are fighting,” he’d said. “We can’t get them to stop. It's really bad! Oh Umma, we really need you! Hurry!”
He didn’t know what was going on, but Eeteuk hoped he could be of some help. He pulled his coat tighter around himself, shivering as a cold breeze hit his face. When had it gotten so cold, anyway?
Just then, Kangin came walking quickly up beside him. “Hyung, did you get the same call as me?”
It was the first time they’d spoken to one another in weeks. Eeteuk nodded. “We’d better get up there and see what’s going on.”
The two quickly walked into the dance studio and up the stairs. They pushed open the door and…
It was empty.
“What’s going on?” Eeteuk asked, stepping inside.
Kangin growled. “This better not be some sort of prank!”
Just then, Kangin felt himself being pushed inside, and the door was slammed behind him.
He turned around and pulled at the door handle, but the door wouldn’t budge. “Yah!” Kangin yelled, “What the fuck?”
“We’re not letting you out until you two make up!” a muffled voice that definitely belonged to Donghae responded through the door.
“Yeah!” That was Sungmin. “Kiss and make up already!”
Once the two realized that banging on the door and threatening and pleading weren’t going to do them any good, they sat down on the floor, far apart from one another in silence.
Finally, Kangin broke the silence. “Are you going to be mad at me forever?”
After a moment, Eeteuk sighed. “Probably not.”
Kangin looked slightly relieved. “…How long do you think we’ll be stuck in here?”
Eeteuk just shrugged. “Probably until you stop being an idiot.”
“What?” Kangin looked at Eeteuk angrily, “I’m not-”
Eeteuk shook his head. “I’m sorry, but I just can’t play this game anymore. …It hurts too much.” He glanced up momentarily and saw Kangin staring blankly at him.
“What are you talking about?” Kangin asked, and Eeteuk sighed, running his hands through his hair.
“You really are an idiot.”
“Anything?” Sungmin whispered loudly, looking at his bandmates worriedly. Donghae shook his head from where he was leaning against the door, evesdropping on his hyungs. “They’re fighting, sort of…”
Kyuhyun smiled reassuringly at Sungmin and Donghae from his spot at the bottom of the stairs. “They’ll make up soon enough. I’m sure of it.” Then he stood up and stretched. “Want to go get something to eat? I doubt they’ll be ready to come out before we get back.”
“FOOD!” Sungmin squealed, bouncing down the stairs, only to be shushed by his dongsaengs.
The three pulled on their coats and gloves before going off in search of food, leaving Eeteuk and Kangin truly alone.
